OtterBox®, the Fort Collins, Colo.-based maker of protective cases for mobile technology, received honors as one of ColoradoBiz magazine’s “Top Company” winners. The Top Company program, now in its 24th year, recognizes outstanding firms based on three factors: financial performance, community involvement and outstanding achievement.
OtterBox Founder and CEO Curt Richardson accepted the award at a Sept. 13 ceremony held in the Seawell Grand Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
“OtterBox’s success really lies in its great people,” Richardson explained to the crowd. “More than anything, we’re in the people business.”
OtterBox was one of 33 firms in 11 industry categories named as a finalist for the Top Company program. Finalists were selected from a rigorous evaluation by longtime sponsor Deloitte. A panel of business professionals and policy officials selected the winners in each industry category. OtterBox, also a finalist for the 2010 program, was honored in the manufacturing category.
