Man’s best friend is playful, loyal and all-around adorable, but some have occasionally mistaken a smartphone or tablet for a chew toy. In honor of National Dog Day on Aug. 26, OtterBox® invites customers to submit photos of canine companions who have damaged a device or an OtterBox.

From August 10 through August 25, 2011, submissions will be accepted on the Cutest Criminal Dog contest page or through email to socialmedia@otterbox.com. Entrants must type ‘Cutest Criminal Dog Contest’ in the subject line, attach a photo and provide a brief description (100 words or less) of the incident including the name of the dog and damaged case and/or device.

The winner will be announced August 26. The lucky dog and owner will receive a gift basket from Wagz, a Fort Collins, Colo.-based pet supply store, filled with doggy delights as well as a $50 OtterBox gift card.

Not a dog owner? You can still revel in the fun by checking out the OtterBox employee-dog match up contest where visitors to the contest page can help select the “Otter” that most closely resembles his or her canine.
