OtterBox® once again topped the Mercury 100 ranking of the fastest growing private companies in Northern Colorado as No. 3. The Northern Colorado Business Report rankings were revealed at a reception on May 18. The protective case maker ranked No. 1 on the 2009 list.

Mercury 100 ranks private companies in Larimer and Weld County based on revenue growth. List ranking criteria this year was based on the percentage of revenue growth from 2009 to 2010. Last year’s ranking was based on three-year revenue growth from 2006 to 2009.

“Curt and Nancy (Richardson) love this community, so being able to contribute to it by growing OtterBox here is very important to them,” said OtterBox President Brian Thomas, who accepted the honor on behalf of the company.

Continued growth at OtterBox is apparent in the local community. The company now has more than 300 employees worldwide, up from 160 at the same time last year. To accommodate the expanding staff, OtterBox will soon open a 48,000-square-foot facility in downtown Fort Collins, Colo. and recently finished an expansion to its distribution center located at interchange of Interstate 25 and Colorado Highway 14.

OtterBox CEO and founder Curt Richardson and his wife, Nancy Richardson, believe that to whom much is given, much is expected.
