OtterBox Receives the Torch Award for Business Ethics

OtterBox, manufacturer of protective cases for handheld technology, was honored last night by the Northern Colorado and Greater Wyoming Better Business Bureau with the prestigious Torch Award for Business Ethics.

Presented to six companies at a ceremony in Loveland, Colo., the award recognizes businesses for their outstanding commitment to practices that benefit their customers, suppliers, shareholders, employees and the surrounding community.

OtterBox founder and CEO, Curt Richardson, accepted the award and attributes the receipt of the Torch Award to the company’s focus on the customer.

“OtterBox is all about honoring our customers, so receiving the Torch Award signifies a great achievement because it validates our commitment to establishing and maintaining positive customer relationships,” Richardson said. “We strive to put the customer first and at the end of the day that’s what we care about most.”

OtterBox’s significant community involvement, including a national partnership with the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade as well as sponsorship of local organizations Partners Mentoring Youth of Larimer County, the Poudre Valley Health System Foundation, Realities for Children and the Larimer County Food Bank, also contributed to the decision.

“It’s important to give back to the community when you have the ability to do so,” Richardson said. “Northern Colorado has shown great support of our efforts here at OtterBox and we appreciate the opportunity to continue to improve the area where we live and work.”
