The Adventure of a Lifetime: Cruising to the Southern-most city in the World

Daren LaBranche knows first hand the calling of adventure. After 3 1/2 years of planning his "trip of a lifetime," he finally hit the road on his 2002 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 motorcycle and headed from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to the southern-most city in the world - Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.

"When I departed, the trip was estimated to take one year," said LaBranche. "But that is very flexible and I fully expect that will vary based on my experiences and how the money holds out."

At the mercy of Mother Nature, this outdoor journey required heavy-duty equipment. With thousands of miles in unpredictable weather and environments, LaBranche choose several ruggedizing units from OtterBox to help safeguard gear along the way.

A Vehicle Mount for holding the PDA on the motorcycle

A cable pass through kit to enable power, sync, cables, GPS, printers, etc. without removing the PDA

"I felt OtterBox was a well designed and quality built product, particularly suited for the rugged outdoor use I intended to take my electronics through on this trip," explained LaBranche.

From a secluded beach on Conception Bay to rough gravel roads on the way to Batopilas, LaBranche and his gear have traveled from frosty mornings to over 100 degree afternoons.

"The OtterBox has been excellent," LaBranche explains. "No problems at all, even on very rough roads, through heavy rain storms and extremely hot weather."
